Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels are a technique used to smooth out the texture of your face. They
are a non-surgical alternative to cosmetic surgery. They do rejuvenate the skin
and wrinkles appear less pronounced than it was prior to the peel.

A plastic surgeon or dermatologist can recommend a type of chemical peel that
would be used prior to the application on your skin.

Types of Chemical Peels Available For Use:
  • Alpha Hydroxy Acid Peels- used to reduce fine wrinkling, treat for dryness, reduce uneven appearance, acne control, to smooth dry skin, reverse sun damage
  • Beta Hydroxy Acid Peels - used to control acne and remove dead skin. Not as harsh as Alpha Hydroxy Peels
  • Jessner's Peels - A combination of salicylic and lactic asids
  • Retinoic Peels
  • Trichloroacetic acid peels - used to remove wrinkles and blemishes in darker skinned patients
  • Phenol Peels - The harshes of treatments may require general anesthesia
No matter what type of peel you choose, make sure you know the side effects of the said treatment. Talk to your surgeon on which is the mildest that would be effective for you.
